I was born in 1975 and, from the five years, I grew up in a village in the countryside, "La Grifa", in westernmost municipality of Cuba, Sandino, in the province of Pinar del Río, far away of big cities and the civilization. In the primary school of this village I began to study; the learning of the language, the writing and the literature was the great challenge that I face and didn't win it in this period of my existence. I always rejected this matter and always were my weak point, obtaining always the lowest qualifications of my life like student; especially my spelling was a disaster, disaster that I have in this moment, but it's very little. In the Vocational Institute "Federico Engels" of Pinar del Río I fell in love of the computer and I opted for the degree of Computer Science in the Havana University; happily I got it in the exams of entry. In the Faculty of Mathematics-Cybernetics, I turned professional. The environment of culture and wisdom of the university captivated me from the first year and pushed me to get knowledge that I didn't have; I was shocked for the high knowledge of History and Culture of my colleagues and I yearned to be in the same level of them. I felt the passion for the reading (never before I had felt the need to read) and I read a lot of books of different kinds, like history and philosophy, but mainly novels; I felt a great attraction for these. In the afternoon of a Saturday when I was alone in my room, in the third year of the university, I finished to read "Les Miserables" of Victor Hugo and I was so captivated for the story that I thought that someday I would like to write something so beautiful like that story, something to conquer the heart of a lot of people. In the fifth year, for the first time, I had the illusion to write a novel and I told it to some close friends, but I was studying to my graduation exam and took it like a hobby.
At September of 1998 I began to work at Ministry of Finance and Price and soon I was disappointed of the computer, seeing a dark future for me in this science, in which I would never reach my dream, then the idea of the literature take place and, in November of this year, I began to study literature and I began to look ideas for my 1st novel. The beginning was very difficult and I must to write to much to coordinate some ideas with good taste. When I finished my work everyday I began to work in my novel, or my studies of literature, using the computer of my job; almost totally, I invested the weekends in my dream. In five months I had created some ideas that inspire me a great hope and the desire to continue writing. I did it. Then I decided that it would be the profession of my life and I gave it up all my heart and passion, believing that with it I could reach my dreams. In the last days of September of 2000 I concluded my first novel, dreaming with the best expectations that a inexperienced person in a matter can have. I presented the novel in two prestigious competition and I didn't gain award; it was a great frustration. The publishing company where I presented the novel later told me my mistakes, deeps mistakes.
In this moment I was working in the end of my 2nd novel with the same mistakes; I considered to work in it until to eradicate my mistakes and learn more about literature. To the last week of December of 2001 I get it; the Cuban publishing company reject my second novel, increasing new advices; I rejected some of this advices with vehemence, considering it absurd (and it was). One year of fighting with publishers abroad for e-mail put me in contact with a publishing company in United Stated that, in January of 2003, interested in publish my novel, with the demand that I must to give them the novel in English and Spanish. Another battle very difficult to gain; in the summer of 2004 I got a complete translation in English, after the third translator finished successfully his job. I executed the contract rapidly and the novel was waiting more than two years to be released in the United Stated, in November of 2006, with a short edition. In June of 2003 I changed the job and I began to work at Lacemi, a little firm. In this period I didn´t stop to write and I wrote my 3rd and 4th novels, that I sent to different publishing house abroad but I always received the rejections. I spent time again in my first novel in the beginning of 2004 and I rewrote it totally, applying the new knowledge acquired in the long war; not one wanted this novel in abroad; like 6 publishing company rejected it. I had time to write my 5th and 6th novels and the script of what must to be my first movie, based on my 5th novel, before the release of "Latina Instinct" in United Stated, on December of 2006. The selling were good and I was happy; I look ahead for another way to publish other of my works. In august of 2020, I publish my great novel "The Neurosurgeon" and in a few months I became a successful writer. Wait for more good things in the comings years.
